BIOGRAPHY :

1975 Samuel Bitton opens his eyes for the first time in a wild area of countryside in western France.
1996 Departure for England to pursue his studies as an electronics engineer. Once he obtains his diploma, he starts his career as an engineer in the space industry, one of his childhood dreams. He is fortunate to be able to develop software that will go all the way to Mars. Most of his free time is spent venturing into the verdant English countryside and walking in the Welsh mountains.
2001 Samuel buys his first silver reflex camera, a Canon EOS 300. Photography immediately becomes a great passion that he very naturally combines with his first passion, that for Nature and the mountains.
2003 Samuel leaves England for the foothills of the Alps in Switzerland, a country where he quickly feels at home. His quest for beautiful photographs starts to take over his life. Mountains naturally become his favourite subject. He also discovers mountaineering, a world that fascinates him and opens up new photographic vistas.
2008 Samuel cofounds, with 5 other landscape photographers, the very first French-speaking landscape photographers' collective, "Bouts de Planète" (Visions of Earth).
2009 First solo exhibition, in collaboration with Pro Natura, at the famous Chillon Castle on the shores of Lake Geneva.
2010 Publication of the very successful "Visions of Earth" book.
End of 2010 The increasing success of his photography allows Samuel to turn over a new leaf in his life by making his passion his profession. He thus becomes a full-time professional photographer, specialising solely in landscape and nature photography. His main activities are the sale of fine art prints, commission work, self-publishing of his "Swiss Alps" calendar, photography workshops and the sale of stock images.
2011 - 2014 Samuel wins First Prize twice in the Nature's Best Photography competition in the Landscape category. His images are also awarded first prize in various other international competitions such as the Trierenberg Super Circuit and the Memorial Maria Luisa.
2012 He spends 6 weeks in southern Bolivia to capture totally exclusive images of unexplored landscapes that have never before been photographed.
2015 Samuel celebrates his 5 years' activity as a professional with the publication of his first book as an author, "MAJESTICS".
